Tobi Alexandra Falade is a curator, writer and artist.

Through exploring diasporic narratives and perspectives, she seeks out spaces where cultural borders meet, combine, and create a new thing.

Curating

Tobi Alexandra Falade has experience curating exhibitions and artistic projects within London institutions including the Barbican, iniva, and Chisenhale Gallery. Alongside her institutional work, she has independently and thoughtfully curated exhibitions across the UK and internationally in Nigeria. In 2023 she curated What Do We Become, a Barbican exhibition exploring notions of home with emerging artists. In 2022 she curated Rosa-Johan Uddoh’s, Pink Tongue, Brown Cheek at iniva, featured in Contemporary And magazine.

Writing

As a writer Tobi is the Emerging Artists Co-Editor of MADE IN BED, the Sotheby’s Institute of Art magazine.

Artist

Tobi’s artistic practice explores picture making through moving image, collage and paint, to create layers conveying the complexity of her diasporic nature. Her artworks have been shown at 1-54 Art Fair New York and London, SABO Advisory Lagos, Nigeria, and is held in the Sharjah Art Foundation Collection.

Currently

Tobi Alexandra Falade is studying a Masters of Contemporary Art at Sotheby’s Institute of Art 2024-25 and supporting the LAHO Foundation.
